WHAT'S UP WITH BLOCK BAND? WE HEAR YOU!

BLOCK BAND prides in self on being in-tune with the needs of band directors and band programs across the country. We listen to our customers and the community. Recently, BLOCK BAND hosted a band director conference calls that featured band directors Howard Ellis, Terrell Stringer, Michael Kernodle, Kevin McLellan, and Anthony Gaskin - representing schools in Mississippi, Missouri, Florida, and South Carolina! It was an excellent call that will help BLOCK BAND better serve band programs needs in the future.

WHAT'S UP WITH BLOCK BAND? ASSISTING BAND DIRECTORS!

BLOCK BAND continues to be in the business of helping band directors make the transition to spring band camp season and enhancing their concert band repertoire. During this semester, we have provided concert arrangements like "Tribute To Bruno Mars", Adele's "Hello" (for band & orchestra), and "The Wake Up Suite" (inspired from the movie School Daze) to schools across the nation. We have added a lot a new music for marching band and pep bands as well. Plenty of new music, percussion equipment, and auxiliary equipment have been made available.

WHAT'S UP WITH BLOCK BAND? READY FOR A GREAT 2016!

New year. New opportunities for BLOCK BAND!

In 2015, we delivered over 150 pieces of music along with a lot of product (including over 30 bass drum heads) to band programs across the country. We will be striving to serve even more band directors and students in 2016. We are preparing to add even more concert band and pep band music to our catalog this season, including our brand-new 2016 PEP BAND BUNDLE!

Included in our catalog, we are providing programs with music with a message for the upcoming Black History Month.

WHATS UP WITH BLOCK BAND

BLOCK BAND is always striving to support the band community. We are constantly coming up with new ways to contribute to the community overall.

We helped to sponsor the Dillon HS BOTB in Dillon, SC, the Warren County HS band competition, and the North Carolina Showstyle Band Directors Association State Championships. This past weekend we sponsored and attended the Kings Fork HS band competition.

During our staff meetings, we often invite band directors as guests to impart wisdom and insight into the craft.

WHAT'S UP WITH BLOCK BAND?

BLOCK BAND continues to grow and reach new levels of success and service to our family of customers.

Recently, we reached 150 arrangements delivered in 2015 alone. We have provided music, drill (4 in 2015), and products to band programs all across the nation. More products are being added constantly, including angle bars for snare drums as well as straps. We've seen growth in our product sales, with University bands now working with us to satisfy their needs.

Our service to the band community extends beyond our sales to our participation with the continuingDirectors Series Podcast.

Block Band Welcomes Scream Bone X To the Arrangers' Corner

Block Band arrangers have training sessions every week regarding arranging techniques, called the "Arrangers' Corner".  At times, we have guest arrangers come in to provide some insight into arranging.

In a recent meeting, we were grateful to have one of the nation’s hottest and most unique arrangers visit with us.

Thomas Jones, aka Scream Bone X, is the head arranger at NC A&T State University’s “Blue & Gold Marching Machine”.

As a trombonist, trumpeter, and head drum major for Hampton University's Marching Force, Thomas has earned a high degree of credibility in the band world.
